Learn real-world skills used by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.

Spend the school year learning alongside the people who work in law enforcement and public safety here in the Wood River Valley. Led by elite officers from across the county, including: the Sheriff’s Office, Hailey PD, Sun Valley PD, and more—you’ll master the skills that keep our community safe.

Over nine months, participants will meet one early-out Wednesday each month for hands-on experiences with local law enforcement agencies and other public safety professionals. You’ll get an inside look at different careers, learn how officers and agencies approach real situations, and practice some of the skills they use on the job.

Throughout the year, you will explore topics like: :

• Understanding your rights: Dive into the 4th Amendment and learn about its crucial role.

• Tactical skills: Master arrest techniques and vehicle search methods.

• Life-saving operations: Search and rescue and avalanche rescue training.

• Specialized units: Explore the intricacies of canine search laws.

• Resilience and well-being: Learn essential mental health and well-being practices.

• And so much more!
