Mountain Operations

The Far & Wise Intern program is an entry-level opportunity that develops future Sun Valley team members through hands-on, rotational experience.

This 10-week program includes rotations within Mountain and Golf Course operations.
Participants gain exposure to daily operations, team leadership, and guest service experience while developing foundational operational skills.
This is a seasonal summer position with a start date to be mutually agreed upon by the Hiring Manager and applicant.

Rotate between various mountain and golf operational departments
Assist with daily lift maintenance checks, which may include assisting with repair or replacement of equipment
Conduct maintenance checks on mountain vehicles, snowcats, snowmobiles, and other shop equipment
Complete work orders on mechanical defaults found
Work with and or monitor snowmaking systems, conduct basic snowmaking maintenance on snow guns,pipes, pumps, fans, and compressors
Have direct contact with guests while working in golf course operations
Work outside in a mountain environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality operations
Perform other duties as assigned

Completion of the Far & Wise winter boot camp program
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Desire to learn, adapt, and grow within various Mountain Operations roles
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Ability to engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
Can safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
